On Tuesday September 27, 2022 the community suffered a tremendous loss with the untimely death of Ryan J. Gagliardi. Ryan was a remarkable young man and is sorely missed by his family, friends and community.
Ryan was a graduate of the Colonie EMS EMT program, worked as an EMT for Malta-Stillwater EMS and was a 7-year veteran of the Fuller Road Fire Department, rising to the rank of Lieutenant.
The Fuller Road Fire Department is initiating the Lieutenant Ryan J. Gagliardi Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be offered to Town of Colonie high school seniors who are currently involved in Emergency Services and intend to continue their education in the public safety field.
For the month of May, our crews will be wearing shirts to support mental health awareness and proceeds from the public sale of the shirts will go directly to the scholarship.
We would also like to support and encourage the fundraiser organized by Ryan's friends and colleagues at Malta-Stillwater EMS. Proceeds from the sale of their shirts will also go to the scholarship fund.
